The Lurujarri Heritage dreaming trail has always been independently organised by the Goolarabooloo Aboriginal community. Worldwide the trial has been recognised for it's educational, environmental and cultural heritage significance and is now accredited through two major Australian universities.

On the Eastern seaboard of Australia, Melbourne's RMIT staff are dedicated to offering the trail as an accredited unit available through the Department of Architecture and Design (Faculty of Constructed Environment).

In Western Australia the University of Notre Dame has taken up the challenge to learn about the Lurujarri Heritage Trail offering a similar accreditation system in the Aboriginal studies as a special projects unit.
