WA LABOR - BAN FRACKING IN THE KIMBERLEY
The WA state election is just around the corner – on Saturday March 8 – and our local state Member of Parliament, Simone McGurk, could be the key to saving the Kimberley from fracking.
Right now a Texan billionaire wants to start fracking our iconic Kimberley. If you’ve ever been, you know that the Kimberley is home to pristine waterfalls, rare animals and unique landscapes. It’s a West Australian paradise. But fracking would turn the Kimberley into an industrial wasteland.
As voters in Fremantle have become increasingly concerned with the Cook Government’s lack of action on climate change, more people are prepared to shift their votes to other parties and independent candidates who back strong climate action. This sends a powerful message to WA Labor that they have to act on climate lest they risk their voters turning elsewhere.
