Kimberley Campaigns
As the peak environmental NGO for the Kimberley region in far north-west Australia, Environs Kimberley is dedicated to looking after the health of the land and waters of the region. We do this through advocacy and on-ground cultural and natural resource management projects.
Everyone talks about ‘wanting to make a difference’. Well, Environs Kimberley has made one. Over twenty-one years, the dedicated Directors, the Board of Management, the skilled, hard-working staff-members and a legion of supporters and volunteers have created a mature organisation that advocates for the region’s natural environment and contributes to its protection in many practical ways. I have unbounded confidence in EK and am honoured to be associated with it.
Environs Kimberley, with a bailiwick much bigger than Tasmania, is an outstanding champion of the Kimberley environment. It's champions - such as defending the Kimberley coast from Woodside's proposed gas hub and state plans for an industrial port - help protect both indigenous heritage and the natural environment of global significance. EK is one of the nation's most successful and outstanding local environmental advocates.
Environs Kimberley continues to stand for the protection of the (Mardoowarra) Fitzroy River. It works with traditional custodians of the region. EK’s ability to attract diverse but complementary staff and volunteers means it is on the front line of defending country whilst conducting research to add value to the protection and promotion of our most precious natural and cultural heritage.
The efforts by Environs Kimberley are vital to protecting the precious heritage of the Kimberley. Its dedicated team provides vital facts to inform the public and hopefully helps to influence government decisions. Without Environs Kimberley a valuable voice in saving our environment would be lost. Keep up the good work!
The Kimberley is one of those rare magical places on the planet that has jaw-dropping natural beauty and yet is still mostly intact. Environs Kimberley has played a big part in keeping it like this. That’s why I support them.
Volunteering at Envions Kimberley has given me the opportunity to make a positive impact on the conservation and protection of this uniquely diverse part of the world that I am lucky to call home.
