We will start off with a screening of A Crude Injustice, a documentary about the Montara oil spill disaster that occurred in 2009 off the coast of Western Australia, spewing millions of litres of crude oil into the Timor Sea. It tells the story of the environmental impacts, as well as the suffering of the West Timor people who were affected by a disastrous well blowout.

We will then follow with Corals’ Last Stand an exquisitely shot and captivating film that tells the critically important story of Scott Reef and the campaign to protect it. Skilfully put together by WA filmmaker Jane Hammond, it showcases the incredible marine life of this majestic coral reef filmed by some of WA’s top underwater videographers.

The powerful story is told by author and marine conservationist Tim Winton, international musician John Butler, Environs Kimberley Executive Director Martin Pritchard, marine biologist Ben Fitzpatrick, ocean influencer Brinkley Davies as well as conservationists who are working to protect Scott Reef from oil and gas corporation Woodside’s proposed 50 oil and gas wells.
