Join SKIPA for our Native Gardens Open Day - a tag-along tour of three urban gardens in Broome - July 20 2025 from 7:30am to 11am.
This event is dedicated to showcasing the beauty, diversity, and ecological importance of Kimberley native plants and gardens.
It will be an excellent opportunity to learn about Kimberley plants species, soil health, water conservation techniques, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies, and learning easy-to-implement tips for sustainable gardening practices, such as composting and rainwater harvesting.
This is a self-drive event, meeting at Garden 1, before moving onto the next two.
Car-pooling is recommended.
Garden 1: Adding Kimberley plants to an established garden.
Open 7:30am to 9:00am. The garden talk starts 8am.
Garden 2: What does water harvesting look like?
Open 8:30am - 10am. The garden talk starts 9am. Morning tea is provided at this stop.
Garden 3: How to create a garden from scratch – a garden two years on.
Open 9:30am - 11am. The garden talk starts 10am
