Get ready — Missy Higgins is heading to Broome and, along with other fantastic local and visiting musicians, is putting on a special fundraising concert for local conservation group Environs Kimberley (EK).

"The Kimberley holds a special place in my heart so I’m always happy to help EK out to help protect it. I want my kids and grandkids to experience the same wonder and magic of this country as I have,” said Missy Higgins.

Missy Higgins has been a strong supporter of the local environmental group, which, with the support of many other people and organisations, has successfully protected many parts of the Kimberley for over twenty years.

EK Director, Martin Pritchard, says:

“We’re lucky to be living in one of the world’s most intact regions but we’re facing many threats like fracking, land clearing, feral animals and invasive weeds. To have support from internationally acclaimed musicians like Missy Higgins and such a group of local legends is a huge boost to our work protecting the Kimberley.”

“This is about celebrating the Kimberley and making sure we look after it for future generations,” said Mr Pritchard.

This year’s EK Concert for the Kimberley will feature the Nomadics, The Mexicans, Wil Thomas, Tanya Ransom and Charlie Mgee (from Formidable Vegetable Sound System), alongside Missy Higgins herself.

This not-to-be missed fundraising event will be held on Saturday 16th June at the Broome Chinatown Convention Centre and everyone is welcome to join us and celebrate EK and the Kimberley.

EK members, new and existing, can purchase special discount tickets of $50, over the phone only, on (08) 9192 1922.  General admission tickets are $65 and available online at Eventbrite.

Tickets are likely to be sold out before the event, so book early.
