Would you like to contribute to conservation and learn about the creatures crawling on the mud?
Join us Saturday 25 October as we explore Town Beach’s seagrass meadows. Learn how to upload observations to iNaturalist as part of the global citizen science initiative, The Great Southern Bioblitz 2025, and help us document the wonderful biodiversity of Broome.
Please scroll down to RSVP.

The Great Southern Bioblitz 2025 is a huge citizen science initiative, where people all across the Southern Hemisphere will head out and attempt to document all living species between 24 and 27 October.
Before the walk, please download the iNaturalist app and familiarise yourself with how to upload images. Then you can join the Kimberley Bioblitz project here.
On Saturday morning, you will be greeted bright and early by Alex near the Town Beach boat ramp - see the map below. As mud walking is governed by the tides, please arrive at 5am. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
What to bring:
- Phone/camera
- Sun protection including hat, sunglasses and protective clothing
- Water bottle
- Mud shoes – dive boots are the best, otherwise old trainers or enclosed shoes with straps. We have dive boots to lend if you need.
Date: Saturday 25 October
Time: 5am to 7:30am
